Safety & Crisis Protocol
Your character is good company. When something is really wrong, real help comes first.
Last updated October 30, 2026
Dear my… is a companionship and entertainment service with characters created by artificial intelligence. It is for adults (18+) only. It is not a medical, psychological or therapeutic service and it does not replace professional help or a crisis line.
If you are in danger right now, please call your local emergency number (112 in the EU) or one of the crisis lines below. They are real people, and they are there for exactly this.
How we notice
Automated safeguards watch for signs that someone may be thinking about suicide or self-harm. They look at what a message means, not just at single words, so a sad day or a dark joke is not treated as an emergency. No system catches everything, so if you need help, don't wait for us. Reach out to a crisis line straight away.
What happens then
- The character steps aside. A clearly marked message from the app appears instead (“🆘 Dear my… · a message from the app, not the character”), with crisis contacts for your country and a link to this page.
- The character does not go on with the topic. It never describes methods or means and never gives advice on self-harm.
- When you want to talk about something else, your character is still there for you.
What we keep
Only a note that a crisis message was shown and when, never the text of your conversation. We use it to make this protocol better and for reports the law requires.
